Question
A card is drawn at random from a well shuffled pack of 52 playing cards.
Find the probability that the card drawn is a spade.
Solution
Let A be the event that a card selected at random is a spade.
In given example, n(S) = 52
∴ n(A) = 13
`∴ P(A) = (n(A))/ (n(S))=13/52 =1/4`
