Question
A dice is thrown once. Find the probability of getting a number between 3 and 8.
Solution
Sample space = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
n(S) = 6
E = the possible even numbers between 3 and 8 = {4, 5, 6}
n(E) = 3
Probability of getting an even number between 3 and 8 = P(S)
= `("n"("E"))/("n"("S"))`
= `3/6`
= `1/2`
