Question
A dice is thrown once. Find the probability of getting an even number.
Solution
Sample space = {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6}
n(S) = 6
E = the possible even numbers = {2, 4, 6}
n(E) = 3
Probability of getting an even number = P(S)
= `(n(E))/(n(S))`
= `3/6`
= `1/2`

1) Event A : to get at least one head.
2) Event B : to get no head.
Activity : If two coins are tossed simultaneously
∴ s = {`square , "HT","TH", square`}
1) Event A : at least getting one head.
∴ A = {`"HH" , square , "TH"`}
2) Event B : to get no head.
∴ B = {`square`}
