A game consists of tossing a coin 3 times and noting the outcome each time. If getting the result in the tosses is a success, find the probability of losing the game.

Total possible outcomes are (HHH), (HHT), (HTH), (THH), (TTH), (THT), (HTT),  (TTT) i.e ., 8. `[1/2]`
The favourable outcomes to the event E 'same result in all the tosses' are TTT, HHH. Therefore, the number of favourable outcomes = 2

∵ P(E)`=2/8=1/4`

Hence, the probability of losing the game = 1 - P(E)
= `1-1/4=3/4`.
