Question
Alka spends 90 % of the amount sent to her and saves Rs. 120 per month. Find the amount sent to her per month.
Solution
Suppose, the amount sent to Alka every month is x. She spends 90% of it.
∴ She saves 10 % of the amount, which is Rs 120
`∴ 120 = x ×10/100`
∴ 120 × 10 = x
∴ x = 1200
∴ Amount sent to Alka every month is RS 1200.
