1) Preparation of XeO3:

Fluorides of xenon react with water to form XeO3.

i) \[\ce{\underset{\text{Xenon tetrfluoride}}{3XeF4} + \underset{\text{Water}}{6H2O} -> \underset{\text{Xenon}}{2Xe} + \underset{\text{Xenon trioxide}}{XeO3} + 12HF + 1 \frac{1}{2} O2}\]

ii) \[\ce{\underset{\text{Xenon hexafluoride}}{XeF6} + \underset{\text{Water}}{3H2O} -> \underset{\text{Xenon trioxide}}{XeO3} + 6HF}\]

2) Preparation of XeOF4:

Partial hydrolysis of XeF6 yields XeOF4.
