Question

Define capacitor reactance. Write its S.I units.

Solution

Capacitor reactance is the resistance offered by a capacitor when it is connected to an electric circuit. It is given by

`X_C=1/(omegaC)`

where
ω = Angular frequency of the source

C = Capacitance of the capacitor

The SI unit of capacitor reactance is ohm (Ω).
