Question

Define Unsaturated hydrocarbon.

Solution

Unsaturated hydrocarbon: Hydrocarbons in which carbon atoms are linked to each other by double or triple bonds are known as unsaturated hydrocarbons. Examples: Ethene (CH2=CH2) and propyne (CH3-C=CH2) are unsaturated hydrocarbons.
