Describe the term D- and L- configuration used for amino acids with examples.
Solution
Amino acid exists both in D' and L' forms. Most naturally occurring amino acids have L-configuration L-Amino acids are represented by writing the –NH2 group on left-hand side and D-amino acids are represented by writing the –NH2 group on right-hand side.
