Question

For what values of x, `[1,2,1] [(1,2,0),(2,0,1),(1,0,2)][(0),(2),(x)]` = O?

Sum

Solution

Here, `[(1,2,1)][(1,2,0), (2,0,1), (1,0,1)][(0),(2),(x)]` = O

⇒ `[(1,2,1)][(0 + 4 + 0),(0 + 0 + x),(0 + 0 + 2x)] = O`

`⇒ [(1,2,1)][(4),(x),(2x)] = O`

⇒ [4x + 2x + 2x] = O

⇒ 4x + 4 = O

⇒ 4x = -4

∴ `x = -4/4 = -1`

= x = -1
