Question
Form a ‘Road Safety Committee’ of two, from 2 boys (B1, B2) and 2 girls (G1, G2).
Complete the following activity to write the sample space :
- Committee of 2 boys = `{square}`
- Committee of 2 girls = `{square}`
- Committee of one boy and one girl = `{B_1G_1, B_1G_2, square, square}`
- ∴ Sample space (S) = `{(B_1 B_2),(B_1 G_1), square, square, (B_2 G_2),(G_1 G_2)}`
Solution
- Committee of 2 boys = {B1 B2}
- Committee of 2 girls = {G1 G2}
- Committee of one boy and one girl = B1G1, B1G2, B2 G1, B2 G2}
- ∴ Sample space (S) = {(B1 B2), (B1 G1), (B1 G2), (B2 G1), (B2 G2),(G1 G2)}

Write a sample space when a die is thrown
Two coins are tossed simultaneously. Complete the following activity to write the sample space and the given events A and B in the set form:
Event A: To get at least one head.
Event B: To get no head.
Activity:
Two coins are tossed simultaneously.
∴ Sample space is
S = `{square, HT, TH, square}`
Event A: To get at least one head.
∴ A = `{square, HT, TH}`
Event B: To get no head.
∴ B = `{square}`
