If a : b = 3 : 5, find: (10a + 3b) : (5a + 2b)
Solution
Given, `a/b = 3/5`
`(10a + 3b)/(5a + 2b)`
= `(10(a/b) + 3)/(5(a/b) + 2)`
= `(10(3/5) + 3)/(5(3/5) + 2)`
= `(6 + 3)/(3 + 2)`
= `9/5`
