Show that the lines: 1-x2=y-34=z-1 and x-43=2y-2-4=z-1 are coplanar.

Solution

Given lines are:  1-x2=y-34=z-1 and x-43=2y-2-4=z-1 

or x-1-2=y-34=z-01 and x-43=y-1-2=z-11

There lines will be coplanar if |x2-x1y2-y1z2-z1a1b1c1a2b2c2| = 0

|4-11-31-0-24-13-21|=|3-21-24-13-21| = 0  ...[Since, R1 = R3]

Thus, given lines are coplanar.
