Adding 15 to both sides

Subtracting 3x from both sides
⇒ 5x − 3x = 3x + 21 − 3x
⇒ 2x = 21
Dividing both sides by 2
⇒ `(2"x")/2 = 21/2`
⇒ x = `21/2`
Hence, x = `21/2` is the solution of the equation.
