Solve the following equation.
17p − 2 = 49

Sum

Solution

17p − 2 = 49

Adding 2 to both sides

⇒ 17p − 2 + 2 = 49 + 2

⇒ 17p = 51

Dividing both sides by 17

⇒ `(17"p")/17 = 51/17`

⇒ p = 3

Hence, p = 3 is the solution of the equation.
