Question
Solve the following quadratic equation by factorization method
`sqrt(2)x^2 + 7x + 5sqrt(2)` = 0
Solution
`sqrt(2)x^2 + 7x + 5 sqrt(2)` = 0
`sqrt(2)x^2 + 2x + 5x + 5sqrt(2)` = 0
`sqrt(2) x (x + sqrt(2)) + 5 (x + sqrt(2))` = 0
`(x + sqrt(2)) + (sqrt(2)x + 5)` = 0 ........(equate the product of factors to zero)
`x + - sqrt(2)` = 0 or `sqrt(2)x + -5`
x = `(-5)/sqrt(2)`
The roots are `-sqrt(2), (-5)/sqrt(2)`
