The area of a square plot is `101 1/400`m2. Find the length of one side of the plot.
Solution
Let length of the square plot be a.
Then, the area of square = a2
According to the question,
Area = `101 1/400`m2 ...[Given]
∴ a2 = `101 1/400`
⇒ a2 = `40401/400`
⇒ a = `sqrt(40401/400)`
⇒ a = `sqrt((201 xx 201)/(20 xx 20)`
∴ a = `201/20 = 10 1/20`m ...[Taking square root on both sides]
Hence, the length of one side of the plot is `10 1/20`m.
