Question

The weights of two bodies are 2.0 N and 2.0 kgf respectively what is the mass of each body?

Numerical

Solution

For Ist body :

Let W1 = 2.0 N.

Then W1 = m1g

Substituting the values, we get

2 = m1 × 10

⇒ m1 = `2/10` = 0.2 kg

For IInd body :

Let W2 = 2.0 kgf.

Then W2 = m2g

Substituting the values, we get

2 × 10 = m2 × 10

⇒ m2 = 2 kg.
