Two dice are thrown at the same time. What is the probability that the sum of the two numbers appearing on the top of the dice is 13?
Solution
The number of possible outcomes = 6 × 6 = 36
There is no outcome favourable to the event E = 'The sum of two numbers is 13'.
n(E) = 0
Hence, P(E) = `(n(E))/(n(S)) = 0/36`
