Permanent Tissue:

Permanent tissue is a type of plant tissue formed when the cells of meristematic tissue stop dividing and undergo a process called differentiation. During differentiation, the cells permanently acquire a specific structure, shape, and function to perform at a particular location. These tissues are made up of mature cells that no longer have the ability to divide. Instead, they specialise in carrying out specific tasks in the plant, such as storage, transport, or support.

Cells in permanent tissues are fully developed, larger in size, and have a defined shape. Their metabolic activity is lower compared to meristematic tissues. Permanent tissues are essential for maintaining the plant's structure and performing vital functions. They are classified into two types: simple permanent tissues (made of one type of cell) and complex permanent tissues (made of different types of cells).
