प्रश्न
Consider a sample of a gas in a cylinder with a movable piston.
Show diagrammatically the changes in the position of the piston, if the temperature is decreased from 400 K to 300 K, and pressure is decreased from 4 bar to 3 bar.
उत्तर
According to combined gas law,
`("P"_1"V"_1)/("T"_1)=("P"_2"V"_2)/("T"_2)`
∴ `(4xx1)/400=(3xx"V"_2)/300` .....[Assuming V1 = 1 L]
∴ V2 = 1 L
Thus, the volume of the gas remains the same.
Hence, there will be no change in the position of the piston.
