Authority and responsibility: Authority refers to the power of giving commands and directions to the subordinates. Herein, power is given with regard to deciding what activities are to be done and by whom. On the other hand, responsibility refers to the obligation that the task which is assigned is successfully completed within the stipulated time. According to this principle, managers should keep a balance between authority and responsibility.
