The radius and slant height of a cone are In the ratio of 4 : 7. If its curved surface area is 792 cm2, find its radius. (Use it ЁЭЬЛ = 22/7).

рдЙрддреНрддрд░

Given that,

Curved surface area=`pirl=792`

Let the radius `(r)=4x `

Height `(h)=7x `

Now, CSA=792

`22/7xx"4x"xx7x=792`

⇒ `88x^2=792`

⇒` x^2=792/88=9`

⇒ `x=3`

∴ Radius =`4x=4xx3=12cm`

Find the total surface area of a cone, if its slant height is 21 m and diameter of its base is 24 m.

`["Assume "pi=22/7]`

A cylinder and a cone have equal radii of their bases and equal heights. If their curved surface areas are in the ratio 8:5, show that the radius of each is to the height of each as 3:4.

The ratio of volumes of two cones is  4 : 5 and the ratio of the radii of their bases is 2:3. Find the ratio of their vertical heights.

Monica has a piece of Canvas whose area is 551 m2. She uses it to have a conical tent made, with a base radius of 7m. Assuming that all the stitching margins and wastage incurred while cutting, amounts to approximately 1 m2. Find the volume of the tent that can be made with it.

There are two cones. The curved surface area of one is twice that of the other. The slant height of the latter is twice that of the former. Find the ratio of their radii.

A vessel, in the form of an inverted cone, is filled with water to the brim. Its height is 32 cm and diameter of the base is 25.2 cm. Six equal solid cones are dropped in it, so that they are fully submerged. As a result, one-fourth of water in the original cone overflows. What is the volume of each of the solid cones submerged?

A cone and a hemisphere have the same base and the same height. Find the ratio between their volumes.

The given figure shows the cross section of a water channel consisting of a rectangle and a semi-circle. Assuming that the channel is always full, find the volume of water discharged through it in one minute if water is flowing at the rate of 20 cm per second. Give your answer in cubic metres correct to one place of decimal.

Find the cost of painting a hemispherical dome of diameter 10 m at the rate of Rs 1.40 per square metre.

A right-angled triangle PQR where ∠Q = 90° is rotated about QR and PQ. If QR = 16 cm and PR = 20 cm, compare the curved surface areas of the right circular cones so formed by the triangle
