The sum of the radii of two circles is 140 cm and the difference of their circumferences in 88 cm. Find the diameters of the circles.

Let radius of circles be ЁЭСЯ1ЁЭСОЁЭСЫЁЭСС ЁЭСЯ2

Given sum of radius = 140cm

ЁЭСЯ1 + ЁЭСЯ2 = 140 …..(i)

difference in circumferences = 88 ЁЭСРЁЭСЪ

2 × ЁЭСЯ1 − 2ЁЭЬЛЁЭСЯ2 = 88

`2 × 22/7 (r_1 − r_2) 88`

`r_1-r_2 = (88xx7)/(2xx22) = 14`

`r_1 = r_2 +14`….(ii) 

(ЁЭСЦЁЭСЦ)ЁЭСЦЁЭСЫ (ЁЭСЦ) ⇒ `r_1 + r_2 +14 =140`

⇒ 2ЁЭСЯ2 = 126

⇒ ЁЭСЯ2 = `126/2` = 63ЁЭСРЁЭСЪЁЭСа

ЁЭСЯ2 = 63ЁЭСРЁЭСЪЁЭСа ЁЭСЦЁЭСЫ (ЁЭСЦЁЭСЦ) ЁЭСЯ1 = 63 + 14 = 77 ЁЭСРЁЭСЪЁЭСа 

Diameter of circle (i) = 2ЁЭСЯ1 = 2 × 77 = 154 ЁЭСРЁЭСЪЁЭСа

Diameter of circle (ii) = 2ЁЭСЯ2 = 2 × 63 = 126 ЁЭСРЁЭСЪЁЭСа

(i) the total length of the silver wire required

(ii) the area of each sector of the brooch
