प्रश्न

In ΔABC, point D divides AB in the ratio 5:7, Find: `"AE"/"AC"`

बेरीज

उत्तर

Considering BE || BC
`"AD"/"DB" = "AE"/"EC"`

⇒ `"AE"/"EC" = "AD"/"DB"`

⇒ `"AE"/"EC" =(5)/(7)`

∵ AC = AE + EC
⇒ AC
= 5 + 7
= 12

∴ `"AE"/"AC" = (5)/(12)` .

Calculate:

  1. the length of AP,
  2. the ratio of the areas of triangle APQ and triangle ABC.
