A bag contains 25 cards, numbered through 1 to 25. A card is drawn at random. What is the probability that the number on the card drawn is a prime number?
Solution
Here n(S) = 25
E3 = Number on the card is prime number.
= {2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19, 23}
n(E3) = 9
∴ P(E3) = `(n(E_3))/(n(S))`
= `9/25`
