Question
A model of a ship is made with a scale factor of 1 : 500. Find
The volume of the ship, if the volume of its model is 200 cm3.
Solution
Scale:- 1 : 500
1 cm represents 500 cm = `500/100` = 5 m
1 cm represents 5m
1cm3 represents 5 m x 5 m x 5 m= 125 m3
Volume of the model = 200 cm3
Volume of the ship = 200 x 125 m3 = 25000 m3
