Question

If $p (x) = 2 x^{2} - 5 \sqrt{3} x + 5$ then $p (5 \sqrt{3})$ .

Sum

Solution

$p (x) = 2 x^{2} - 5 \sqrt{3} x + 5$

∴ $p (5 \sqrt{3}) = 2 \times {(5 \sqrt{3})}^{2} - 5 \sqrt{3} \times 5 \sqrt{3} + 5$

= 2(25 × 3) − (25 × 3) + 5

= 2 × 75 − 75 + 5

= 150 − 75 + 5

= 80
