In a single throw of a die, the probability of getting a multiple of 3 is

Options

  • \[\frac{1}{2}\]

  • \[\frac{1}{3}\]

  • \[\frac{1}{6}\]

  • \[\frac{2}{3}\]

MCQ

Solution

A dice is thrown once

TO FIND: Probability of getting a multiple of 3.

Total number on a dice is 6.

Numbers which are on multiple of 3 are 3 and 6

Total number of numbers which are multiple of 3 is 2

`"We know that PROBABILITY" ="Number of favourable event"/"Total number of event"`

Hence probability of getting a number which are multiple of 3 is equal to `2/6=1/3`
