Question
“Plasmodium protozoan needs both a mosquito and a human host for its continuity.” Explain.
Solution
A healthy person gets bitten by an infected female anopheles mosquito, which injects the sporozoite infection stage into their outer blood vessels. The infectious stage multiplies repeatedly in the liver and red blood cells. The sporogonic cycle describes how the parasites multiply inside the mosquito. The micro gametes enter the macro gametes while in the mosquito's stomach, creating zygotes. The zygotes later mature into lengthy, motile structures called ookinetes, which enter the mosquito's gut wall and develop into the eggs. The sporozoites are released when the oocysts expand, burst, and go to the salivary glands of the mosquito. The malaria life cycle is continued by sporozoite inoculation into a new human host
