Question
Shiv works in a mall and gets paid ₹ 50 per hour. Last week he worked for 7 hours and this week he will work for x hours. Write an algebraic expression for the money paid to him for both the weeks.
Solution
Given, money paid to shiv = ₹ 50 per h
∴ Money paid last week = ₹ 50 × 7 = ₹ 350
So, money paid this week = ₹ 50 × x = ₹ 50x
Total money paid to shiv = ₹ (350 + 50x) = ₹ 50(x + 7).
