Question
Suppose you are a college student who wants to contribute towards the country's economy. Suggest a process that you will use to bring an attitude change amongst your peers towards buying only Indian goods to support the nation's economy.
Solution
The two-step concept by S. M. Mohsin will be the appropriate process to follow for the aforementioned circumstance.
The 'target' (peers) will identify with the'source' (me) in the first phase because I will be the one persuading my peers of the advantages of purchasing Indian goods. The "target" (peers) will then identify with the "source" (me) and form an opinion about the "attitude object" (Indian goods) based on that opinion.
In the second step, the'source' (me) will change my attitude towards the 'attitude object' (Indian goods), causing the 'target' (peers) to change theirs.
