Question

The perimeter of the quadrant of a circle is 25 cm. Find its area.

Sum

Solution

Let the radius of the circle be r

Now, Perimeter of quadrant`=1/4(2pi"r")+2"r"`

`=>  25  = 1/2xx22/7xx"r"+2"r"`

`=> 25 = (25"r")/7`

⇒ r = 7 cm

Area of quadrant `= 1/4pi"r"^2=1/4xx22/7xx7xx7=38.5  "cm"^2`

Hence,the area of quadrant is 38.5 cm
