- Sugar industry is an agro-based industry.
- Sugarcane is the raw material in the sugar industry.
- Sugarcane is perishable and weight-losing raw material.
- It is also a heavy and bulky raw material.
- Considering all the above characteristics of raw material used in the sugar industry, it is always located in the sugarcane production areas.
