⇒ 1 = `"PR"/(12)`
⇒ PR = 12
In right ΔQRS,
tan30° = `"QR"/"RS"`
⇒ `(1)/sqrt(3) = "QR"/(12)`
⇒ QR = `(12)/sqrt(3)`
Now,
y = PQ
= PR - QR
= `12 - (12)/sqrt(3)`
= `12 - (12)/(1.732)`
= 12 - 6.93
= 5.07.
