उत्तर

In ΔLMP and ΔDEF, we have

LM = 2.7, MP = 2, LP = 3, EF = 5, DE = 4, DF = 6

`("MP")/("DE") = 2/4 = 1/2`

`("PL")/("DF") = 3/6 = 1/2`

`("LM")/("EF") = 2.7/5 = 27/50`

Here, `("MP")/("DE") = ("PL")/("DF") ≠ ("LM")/("EF")`

Hence, ΔLMP and ΔDEF are not similar.

In the following figure, E is a point on side CB produced of an isosceles triangle ABC with AB = AC. If AD ⊥ BC and EF ⊥ AC, prove that ΔABD ∼ ΔECF.

Sides AB and AC and median AD of a triangle ABC are respectively proportional to sides PQ and PR and median PM of another triangle PQR. Show that ΔABC ~ ΔPQR.

A vertical pole of a length 6 m casts a shadow 4m long on the ground and at the same time a tower casts a shadow 28 m long. Find the height of the tower.

If AD and PM are medians of triangles ABC and PQR, respectively where ΔABC ~ ΔPQR, prove that `("AB")/("PQ") = ("AD")/("PM")`.

A vertical stick 10 cm long casts a shadow 8 cm long. At the same time a shadow 30 m long. Determine the height of the tower.

In a right angled triangle with sides a and b and hypotenuse c, the altitude drawn on the hypotenuse is x. Prove that ab = cx.

In the following Figure, ∠ABC = 90° and BD ⊥ AC. If AB = 5.7 cm, BD = 3.8 cm and CD = 5.4 cm, find BC.

In the given figure, DE║BC such that AD = x cm, DB = (3x + 4) cm, AE = (x + 3) cm and EC = (3x + 19) cm. Find the value of x.

In the given figure MN|| BC and AM: MB= 1: 2

In figure, ABC is a triangle right angled at B and BD ⊥ AC. If AD = 4 cm, and CD = 5 cm, find BD and AB.

If in two triangles ABC and PQR, `(AB)/(QR) = (BC)/(PR) = (CA)/(PQ)`, then ______.

Is it true to say that if in two triangles, an angle of one triangle is equal to an angle of another triangle and two sides of one triangle are proportional to the two sides of the other triangle, then the triangles are similar? Give reasons for your answer.

In figure, l || m and line segments AB, CD and EF are concurrent at point P. Prove that `(AE)/(BF) = (AC)/(BD) = (CE)/(FD)`.

In ΔABC, seg XY || side AC. If 2AX = 3BX and XY = 9, then find the value of AC.
