Question

A car travels 1 km distance in which each wheel makes 450 complete revolutions. Find the radius of wheel.

Solution

Let radius of wheel = ‘r’ m

Circumference of wheel = (2๐œ‹r)m.

No. of revolutions = 450

Distance for 450 revolutions = 450 × 2๐œ‹๐‘Ÿ = 900๐œ‹๐‘Ÿ ๐‘š

 distance travelled = 1000 m.

900๐œ‹r = 1000

r = 10000 9๐œ‹ × 100

`=10/(9pi)` ๐‘š

=`1000/(9pi)` ๐‘๐‘š๐‘

๐‘Ÿ๐‘Ž๐‘‘๐‘–๐‘ข๐‘  (๐‘Ÿ) =`1000/(9pi)`๐‘๐‘š๐‘
