Question

A model of cargo tuck is made to a scale of 1:40. The length of the model is 15cm. Calculate: The volume of the model if the volume of the truck is 6m3

Sum

Solution

Scale = 1:40
Volume of the truck = 64m3

`"volume(model)"/"volume(truck)"` = Scale

`"volume(model)"/(64 xx (100)^3) = (1)/(40)^3`

Volume(model) = `(64000000)/(64000)`

Volume(model) = 1000cm3.
