From a circular piece of cardboard of radius 3 cm two sectors of 900 have been cutoff . Find the perimeter of the remaining portion nearest hundredth centimeters ( `"Take"  pi = 22/ 7`).

Solution

Since the sectors are of central angle 90° o, the sector is in the form of a quadrant Two such quadrants are cut off. So, a semicircle is left.
Perimeter of the semicircle =` pi r`

`= 22/7xx(3)` 

`=9.428 cm`
