Question
If A = `[(3, 5),(4,- 2)]` and B = `[(2),(4)]`, is the product AB possible ? Given a reason. If yes, find AB.
Solution
A = `[(3, 5),(4,- 2)]_(2 xx 2)` and B = `[(2),(4)]_(2 xx 1)` the product AB is possible as the number of columns in A are equal to the number of rows in B.
Now AB = `[(3, 5),(4,- 2)] [(2),(4)]`
= `[(3 xx 2 + 5 xx 4),(4 xx 2 + (-2) xx 4)]`
= `[(26),(0)]`.
