Question
A chord of a circle of radius 14 cm a makes a right angle at the centre. Find the area of the sector.
Solution
Let r cm be the radius of the circle and θ be the angle.
We have:
r = 14 cm and θ = 90°
Area of the sector `=(pi"r"^2theta)/360`
`=(22/7xx14xx14xx90/360) "cm"^2`
= 154 cm2
