Solution
Griffin went into the vicar's house quietly in the early hours of Whit Monday, the day of the Club festivities. Mrs Bunting was awakened by some strange sounds. She heard the distinct sound of footsteps and hurriedly woke her husband up. Mr and Mrs Bunting felt the presence of someone in the study but were unable to see anyone. Griffin opened the drawer with a snap. He struck a match and lit a candle. Then he took their housekeeping money and left the house as quietly as he had come. The Buntings were quite flabbergasted at what had happened in their house!
