Question

Find if the following points lie on the given line or not:

(-1, 5) on the line 3x = 2y -15

Sum

Solution

Put x = -1, y = 5 in the given line

3x = 2y - 13

LHS = 3( -1 ) = -3

RHS = 2(5) - 13 = 10 - 13 = -3

LHS = RHS

( -1,5) lies on the line 3x = 2y - 13
