Question

Find the equation of the line whose slope is -43 and which passes through (−3, 4).

Sum

Solution

Given, slope = -43

The equation passes through (−3, 4) = (x1, y1)

Substituting the values in y – y1 = m (x − x1), we get,

y-4=-43(x+3)

3y – 12 = −4x – 12

4x + 3y = 0, which is the required equation.
