Find the mean and the median of: 1.2, 1.9, 2.2, 2.6 and 2.9
Solution
Given data = 1.2, 1.9, 2.2, 2.6 and 2.9
Clearly, middle term is 2.2
∴ Median = 2.2
∴ Mean = `"sum of observations"/"Number of observations"`
`= (1.2 + 1.9 + 2.2 + 2.6 + 2.9)/5 = 10.8/5 = 2.16`
