Mid–point of AB = `(("a" + "a" + 2"b")/2, ("b" + 2"a" - "b")/2)`
= `((2"a" + 2"b")/2, (2"a")/2)`
= `(2(("a" + "b"))/2, "a")`
= (a + b, a)
