Harmful Living Things:
- Harmful Animals: Some animals can be harmful to humans in different ways. Mosquitoes and flies spread diseases like malaria, dengue, and cholera. Cockroaches, mice, and rats contaminate food and spread diseases. Lice and ticks cause discomfort and spread illnesses. Poisonous creatures like certain lizards, spiders, snakes, and scorpions can harm or even cause death with their bites. Wild elephants can destroy homes and crops if they enter human settlements.
- Harmful Plants: Some plants can be harmful to humans and other plants. Weeds like dodder and parthenium invade crops and reduce soil quality. Nettle pods and Colocasia leaves can cause skin itching when touched. Oleander and lantana release strong odours that can cause irritation. The datura plant is poisonous and dangerous if consumed.
- Harmful Fungi: Fungi, such as mould and mildew, can grow uncontrollably in damp environments. Fungi and algae can grow in water, polluting drinking water and spreading diseases.
