Question

Find the diameter of the sphere for the following :

Volume = `523 17/21` cm3

Sum

Solution

Volume = `523 17/21` cm3

Volume of sphere = `4/3pir^3`

⇒ `4/3pir^3 = 523 17/21`

⇒ `4/3 xx 22/7 xx r^3 = 11000/21`

⇒ `r^3 = (11000 xx 7 xx 3)/(21 xx 4 xx 22) = 231000/1848`

⇒ `r^3 = 125`

⇒ r = 5 cm

Radius = 5 cm ⇒ Diameter = 2r = 10 cm
