Question

If the area of a sector of a circle is `5/18` of the area of the circle, then the sector angle is equal to

Options

  • 60°

  • 90°

  • 100°

  • 120°

MCQ

Solution

We have given that area of the sector is  `5/18`of the area of the circle.

Therefore, area of the sector =`5/18xx` area of the circle

`∴ θ/360xxpir^2=5/18xxpir^2`

Now we will simplify the equation as below,

`θ/360=5/18`

Now we will multiply both sides of the equation by 360,

`∴ θ=5/18xx360`

`∴ θ=100`

Therefore, sector angle is `100°`
