The Rainy season unfolds from June to September, bringing with it a refreshing coolness and the necessary moisture for crops such as Bajra, Peanuts, Corn, and Soybean to flourish. By 1995, catches of both the species were virtually the same (9000). By the 2000, the situation had reversed and the number of minke whales killed more than doubled as compared to sei whales (6000). If these trends continue, the situation for the smaller species will be as bad as it used to be for the larger ones.
